EAR AND CARTILAGE PIERCING
At House of Beauty we use individually packed pre-sterilised non-allergic 24-ct Gold-plated studs, which are mounted in a disposable cartridge. This ensures that the skin will not come into contact with any part of the gun, only the casing. This casing is disposed of after every client. Also included is a six-week follow-up visit, where we remove the studs, clean the area and insert your chosen earrings.
NOSE PIERCING
We use a push through mounted system. The stud does not have a back which allows for quick healing and cleaning.

AFTER PIERCING ADVICE CARE
Minor pain/redness may occur immediately - this is normal. This should settle within 48 hours provided proper after care is carried out. If undue pain/swelling/redness occurs at any time, seek medical advice immediately, before removing the ear-piercing stud.
Though post-piercing complications are rare, In order to promote a trouble-free healing process, all customers receiving an ear piercing at House of Beauty should observe the following after care advice.
Q - How long do the earrings need to be left in for after piercing?
A - Earrings should be left in for 6 weeks; this is to give the ears time to heal. When the aftercare lotion is applied you are advised to turn the earrings to ensure the pierced area does not heal onto the stud.
Q - Is there a chance that the piercing will not be level, how is this checked?
A - The therapist will use a non-toxic pen and mark the spot where the piercing will take place. This will have been agreed with the client using a mirror. Should you not agree then this is the time to speak. The therapist will then use the mark on the skin as her guide for positioning the gun.

- Wash hands thoroughly before touching the piercing.
- Cleanse front and back of the piercing with the aftercare solution provided at least twice a day without removing studs. Then rotate studs 2 or 3 times, 180° left and 180º right, i.e. ½ turns only, thus avoiding hair wrapping around the post at the back of the lobe. In between cleansing, keep ears DRY.
- Do not remove the studs or handle your ears and/or studs unnecessarily.
- Do not push the butterfly along the post towards the ear - the butterfly must always be positioned at the tip of the post. Feel the back of the butterfly each time you cleanse the ear - it must feel smooth.
- Leave studs in ears for 6 weeks continuously.
- After 6 weeks, the studs can be removed and other post-type earrings may be worn continuously.
- Use only post style earrings continuously for the first 5 months from piercing. The post should be surgical stainless steel or other hyper-allergenic material.
- Keep hairspray, soap, shampoo and other preparations away from the ear. After shampooing, the ear should be rinsed with clear water.
