Rejuvenation
Ellipse IPL is clinically proven, safe and effective. The Ellipse I²PL treatment offers clinically proven treatment of sun-damaged skin, covering both vascular and pigmented aspects.
You can remove age spots, thread veins, diffuse redness and uneven pigmentation on the face and body with the Ellipse IPL Skin Rejuvenation systems.
As skin rejuvenation is based on light absorption in melanin and haemoglobin, treatments are most efficient in patients with light skin who are not sun tanned at the time of treatment. The lighter the skin the more pronounced the contrast between the age spots/blood vessels and the skin, making treatment easier. However, Ellipse has pre-programmed settings for different skin colours that deliver the correct energy output for your complexion.

Benign pigmented lesions may be genetic in origin or may be caused by physical damage such as sunburn or injury as well as the natural effect of ageing. The lesions can vary in size and colour. It is always important to ensure that the lesion is not malignant before removing it.
The Ellipse I²PL treatment works by directing well-controlled pulses of light into the upper skin layer. The light is absorbed by two of the body’s own natural chemicals – melanin in the pigmented areas and haemoglobin in the red blood cells.
Both these pigments convert the light energy into heat. This heat is used to destroy the parts of the cells in which the melanin is stored, and to damage the walls of the vessels supplying blood to the areas where vascular damage is seen. This technique is called “Selective Photothermolysis”.
The visible light produced by the Ellipse I²PL system is carefully controlled to produce the correct pulse length and right amount of energy to destroy the targets without damaging surrounding tissue, providing skin rejuvenation.
The Ellipse I²PL photo rejuvenation treatment will additionally treat larger telangiectasias (individually visible vessels).
Photo rejuvenation is a quick and simple treatment that does not interfere with your normal daily routine, repairing sun-damage found on the face, neck, chest and hands.
Ellipse Skin rejuvenation offers the best anti aging skin treatment around. The treatment removes superficial pigmentation, diffused redness and facial thread veins.
Typically body areas suitable for treatment are: face, neck, décolleté and also the hands.
The reviews of this treatment support an array of fantastic results.
Frequently asked Questions;
How does Ellipse IPL Light work for Skin rejuvenation?
Age spots and hyper pigmentation contains melanin and diffuse redness contains haemoglobin. The light is absorbed by the melanin in the pigmented area & the heat reaction caused breaks down the melanin in the keratinocytes. A photo toxic reaction occurs in the melanin vesicles and the excess melanin turns darker before it comes away from the skin. The light is also absorbed by the superficial blood vessels in the skin. The heat reaction caused coagulates blood vessels, destroys protein in the wall of the vessel and stimulates collagen production. We can treat sun damaged skins.
On average 1-3 treatments at 4 week intervals are needed for the best results. Top up treatments may be needed in the future to maintain these results.
What skin conditions can be treated?
The IPL laser sun damage pigmentation removal treatment can be used for diffuse redness (high colour) and pigmented lesions such as hyper pigmentation, solar lentigines (sun spots) and freckles.
What Results can I expect using Ellipse IPL treatments?
Excess pigmentation and diffuse redness will dramatically reduce and skin texture and pore size will improve. The pigmentation will become darker in colour immediately after the treatment. A few days after the treatment the pigmented areas will develop a light crust (this is a good sign that the treatment has worked). After that the skin will look smoother and fresher. A few more treatment sessions may be required to keep a smooth and youthful appearance.
How many treatments are needed for the best results?
On average 1-3 treatments at 4 week intervals are needed for the best results. Top up treatments may be needed in the future to maintain these results. For the optimum collagen stimulation effect with Skin Rejuvenation 6 treatments at 4 week intervals would be recommended.
What are the treatment requirements for acne treatments?
The Ellipse IPL acne treatment is a combination therapy. We recommend you use adapalene (Differin or Redap) cream or gel for 1 month prior to the Ellipse IPL treatment. Sun exposure should be avoided 30 days post and prior treatment. A course of 4 Ellipse IPL treatments is recommended with 3 week intervals.
How much improvement of wrinkles can I expect
The degree of improvement is very individual. Once you have a consultation we can determine what is possible.
How often will I need treatments?
It is difficult to predict the number of sessions required, as it depends on the nature of the lesions to be treated and their size, plus the client’s skin type, condition and colour. Some conditions may require maintenance treatments from time to time. This will be discussed during your consultation. Different types of skin rejuvenation require different numbers of treatments.
How can I be sure Ellipse is safe and effective?
Clinical trials documenting Ellipse’s safety and effectiveness are carried out by leading doctors prior to the release of the product. The results of these tests are then published in respected, refereed medical journals.
How long will results last?
The results are very lasting usually for a number of years.
